Where in Trinidad is safe

So safety is something I have been thinking about a lot and something happened this morning that brought it home. I go any and everywhere in Trinidad. Behind the bridge Laventille, Chaguanas, Morvant, Betham, Arima, Freeport, Westmoorings. Traveling and driving. 7 am 7 pm. I love stopping, talking to people, taking pictures, eating food, taking walks. This morning I found out that someone I know was shot while going to buy food last night, while liming. I saw him last carnival at a fete in Maracas. He worked hard, played hard. Once I saw him I must take a wine and an ole talk. Now just like that he is gone. Leaving his family, wife, beautiful daughters, young son behind. I am tearing up again writing this. Crying for him, crying for his family, crying for my country. Will I stop going out, roaming my country. No I will not. I will continue to go everywhere, speak to everyone and when Carnival comes around I will take a wine and a drink for you darlin.

I believe this is passion fruit. Its growing by my daughters’ school
